Castle Hill — 2 Houses & 4 Granny Flats

Large-scale residential development in Castle Hill consisting of two primary residences and four secondary granny flats, requiring comprehensive internal wet area waterproofing across 12+ rooms.

Project Scope & Challenge

With tight builder handovers across multiple dwellings, maintaining rigorous quality control across every shower recess, wall niche, and laundry floor was paramount. Every wet area featured varied structural substrates including compressed fiber cement (CFC) sheeting, concrete floor slabs, and moisture-resistant plasterboard.

System Installation

• AS 3740 Compliance: Full shower recess waterproofing up to 1800mm in shower enclosures and 150mm above finished floor level.
• Dual Membrane Hybrid System: Fast-drying micro-fiber reinforced acrylic membrane on vertical wall linings and heavy-duty, high-flexibility polyurethane membrane across all floors.
• Shower Niches & Penetrations: Detail wrapping of recessed shampoo niches, tap spindles, mixer bodies, and puddle flanges with pre-formed waterproof cuffs.
• Laundry Step-Downs: Perimeter angle installation and water-stop barriers at all room thresholds to prevent capillary moisture tracking into adjoining carpet and timber floors.

Outcome

Full sign-off and Form 15 waterproofing compliance certificates issued for all 6 dwellings, paving the way for immediate tiling without defect notices.
